Cookie Policy

This information is supplemented by the first-level information (so-called Cookie Banner) as well as by the Privacy Policy.

The purpose of this Cookie Policy is in particular to illustrate the types and categories of cookies used, the purposes and methods of use of cookies by CASTAL Srl, with registered office in Strada Striaga 4 – 25024 Leno (BS), the data controller, or by third parties, where cookies of so-called third parties are installed, as well as to provide guidance to users on the actions to take to refuse or delete cookies present on the site www.castal.net.

The user can express his or her consent to the use of cookies proposed to him or her with the so-called Cookie Banner (so-called first-level information) in various ways by clicking on the ‘OK’ or ‘I accept’ button.

WHAT ARE COOKIES?

Cookies are small text files that are stored in your browser or device when you visit a site. Cookies contain different types of information that are transmitted between the browser and the web server, enabling the site to retrieve this information each time the site is accessed.

TYPES OF COOKIES USED IN GENERAL

In this section, a theoretical description of cookies is given in order to enable the table below to be read.

In relation to time

The site may make use of session or persistent cookies.

The former are only stored for as long as the browser remains open, and are deleted when the browser is closed.

The latter, on the other hand, are stored persistently, for a time that varies from cookie to cookie, but which nevertheless persists when the browser is closed.

Through your browser, you can view the number of cookies installed by the site and the indicated expiry date.

In relation to the function

Technical cookies, which are used for navigation, to facilitate the user’s access to and use of the site. Without the use of such cookies, certain operations could not be carried out or would be more complex and/or less secure. For example, storing the language chosen by the user requires a technical cookie. These cookies are necessary in order to allow effective navigation.

Statistical (“analytics“) cookies, which serve to collect information in aggregate and sometimes anonymous form on the number of users and how they visit the site, in order to optimise the effectiveness of the site. Such cookies are not necessary. Non-anonymised or third-party cookies must be indicated in the landing banner.

Profiling cookies, i.e. cookies used to track the user’s online browsing and create profiles of their tastes, habits, choices, etc. These cookies can be used to transmit to the user’s terminal advertising messages in line with the preferences already expressed by the same user when surfing online. For this type of cookie it is expressly provided that consent is acquired by means of a so-called cookie banner on landing, containing an indication that the site makes use of these cookies and a link to this information notice.

In relation to provenance

FIRST PARTY: these are the cookies installed by the site operator. They install functions controlled and set up directly by the professional who manages the site.

There may be third-party content or functionality on a site, through which cookies may be installed (so-called “third-party” cookies). This type of cookie is not installed and managed by the operator of the site, but by the third party owner of the cookie itself, which is a different entity from the site owner. The use of these cookies always requires the user’s consent, which is acquired by this site as a mere technical intermediary between the user and the third party.

In relation to identifiability

ANONYMISED or not: depending on whether the cookies allow, also by association and cross-referencing with other data (such as IP, Username, browsing preferences, etc.) the identification of the user (or at least of the device or connection) a distinction is made between anonymised and non-anonymised cookies.

Having said that, the www.castal.net website installs the following cookies:

MANAGING CONSENT TO THE USE OF COOKIES

If the site uses exclusively technical cookies, it is not required to provide the user with the first level of information (by means of a banner when landing on the site). Instead, this second-level information is required for proper transparency towards the user. Consent to the use of this type of cookie is compulsory, since without them, navigation may be compromised and some functions may not be available, thus creating an inconvenience for the user (for example, if a site is available in several languages, if these cookies are not used, the user would have to select the language he or she prefers each time he or she accesses the site).

If the site uses analytical cookies installed by the site operator, i.e. first-party, for their use, the user’s prior consent is not required, nor is notice via the first-level information (only if anonymous). The banner, therefore, is not required for that category of cookies either. However, since they are not necessary for the proper functioning of the site, consent for their use can be revoked at any time, via the link provided under Cookie Management Tools.

If the site makes use of non-anonymous third-party analytical cookies (Google Analytics, etc.), their use requires the user’s prior consent, which will be acquired through acceptance of the first-level information (banner when landing on the site). The use of these cookies is not strictly necessary for the proper functioning of the site; therefore, consent to their use is optional and may be given and revoked at any time, via the link given under Cookie Management Tools.

If the site uses first-person profiling cookies, consent is acquired through acceptance of the first-level information (landing banner). Consent for the use of this type of cookie is optional, as it is not essential for the site to function properly. This consent is revocable at any time, via the link given under Cookie Management Tools.

If third-party cookies used for commercial and profiling purposes (adsense, etc.) are present on the site. Consent to the use of these cookies is optional and can be given and revoked at any time via the link under Cookie Management Tools.

Cookie Management Tools

You can change your cookie preferences at any time by clicking on the button below. This will allow you to revisit the Cookie Banner to give or revoke consent for one or more categories of cookies.
